The executive leadership team at Bellevue Medical Center continues to take shape with the appointment of Jacqueline Parmenter as chief nursing officer.  Parmenter comes to Bellevue from The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where she worked for 37 years.

After beginning her career as a pediatric staff nurse, Parmenter served in numerous leadership roles at the medical center.  Most recently, she served as nursing director for perioperative and endoscopy services.  Prior to that, Parmenter was nursing director of the pediatric intensive care and general pediatrics units.  She was also involved in overseeing the opening of an outpatient care center, operating rooms and inpatient units.

“Patient safety and positive patient experience have always been the highest priorities for me,” Parmenter said.  “My vision for care in Bellevue is that we create a culture in which the patient and family are the primary focus and that we provide them an experience beyond their expectation.”

“Jacqueline brings a vision for nursing services that fits right with Bellevue Medical Center’s goal to become the best community hospital in Nebraska,” said Marty Carmody, CEO of Bellevue Medical Center.  “Her nursing and leadership experience, positive attitude, strong communication skills and commitment to excellence make her a great addition to the team.”

Parmenter joins CEO Carmody, Chief Financial Officer Levi Scheppers and Chief Operations Officer Cindy Arbaugh to lead the area’s newest hospital.

Bellevue Medical Center is a full service community hospital due to open in May.  It is a collaborative effort between The Nebraska Medical Center, local independent physicians and UNMC Physicians, the faculty practice group of The University of Nebraska Medical Center.
